Twenty-two students received a total of $48,000 on March 18 during the 25th Annual Turlock Chamber of Commerce Ag Scholarship Luncheon held at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in Turlock, California.
Part of this scholarship funding includes the Jim Booth Memorial Scholarship, a scholarship that honors a founding member of the committee. Lucia Nunes of Hilmar High School and Rylie Rice of Pitman High school were this years recipients.

The luncheon, sponsored by Garton Tractor, hosted approximately 250 guests. Guest speaker Anthony Agueda spoke about his college experience after receiving a scholarship from the ag committee in 2021, and District 2 Supervisor Vito Chiesa presented the recipients with certificates of recognition on behalf of Stanislaus County.
The students’ aspiring career goals ranged from welding and diesel mechanics to appraisers, educators, and veterinarians.
